In a daring proposal, she goes further and suggests that they marry. She will be his slave bride—his virgin slave bride.
Intrigued, Theo, a man who has cloaked his emotions in mastery since a devastating divorce, seeks the gentle beauty out again after she has left him to consider her idea. He rescues Sofia from her bullying father and takes her to his private island. Theo courts Sofia, teaching her what lovemaking can be, and she teaches him about emotional intimacy.
In a month's time they will marry—and will Sofia's gamble pay off? Will Theo be a loving master and husband, or has she asked too much of the tyrant of New Athens?

Chapter 1

New Athens , late spring, 2061

The naked slave lay across his lap, her head and arms down, her bottom raised. She was a blonde, like his ex-wife, but this young woman was a warm, golden blonde, not cold as Daphne had been. Theo ran a finger down the length of her curved spine and felt her tremble, although her body remained relaxed and submissive. He cupped her ass with his hand, savoring the feel of her smooth, pliant skin.
“What is your name?” He knew, but he wanted to hear her say it.
“Sofia…sir—master.”
“Sir will do for now.” She was so tender under his fingers, so vulnerable. He mastered himself to ask what needed to be asked. “Your records state that you offered yourself as a companion-slave on your twenty-first birthday, two days ago. Why are you in such haste to sell yourself?”
“Slavery is legal in New Athens,” she replied softly. “Men and women can sell themselves for a time of two years.”
“And gain great riches for themselves. Is that why you are here?”
“No.” She shook her head. “I want…this—” She swallowed abruptly, as if too tense to say more. So Sofia was partly compliant, he noted, but she had not truly answered him. Allowing her evasion, Theo brushed a long, curling lock of gold hair away from her face.
“You are very beautiful,” he went on. “How is it that  you are still a virgin?”
She stiffened, a pale rose color sweeping into her face and down her long, narrow throat. “I’ve cared for my grandparents since I was fourteen. I had no time for anything else.” He felt a sigh run through her slender form. “They died last month, before my birthday.”
Two recent, close deaths in her young life, and there was far more here still, Theo knew. Sofia had a complicated history, only hinted at in her records. He had found out more, of course, but he would allow her some privacy. All slaves, even experienced ones, were owed that. For the moment he brushed his fingers lightly through her amazing cloud of hair and planted a soft kiss on her shoulder, two gentle acts to reassure her.
“You did not wish to experiment sexually before now? Not even for one night?”
“No!” Her denial was absolute, and her limbs stiffened in complete rejection of the idea. Seeking to calm her afresh, Theo stroked the middle of her back.
“You wish to have a true, long-lasting relationship,” he said.
She nodded again, and he saw tears glistening in the corners of her bright blue eyes. At once a fierce protectiveness stormed through him. Touched by her honest, open responses, it took all his self-control to keep her as she was, submissive across his knee, and not gather her into a protective embrace.
That was the problem, of course. Since Daphne’s bitter, unlamented departure he had cloaked himself and his emotions in dominance. Sofia , beautiful and appealing, wrung other feelings from him.
Startled by his wish to hold and comfort her instantly, Theo regretfully admitted to himself that he had made a mistake, a bad one, unforgivable in a master. He was accustomed to more experienced bed partners. He knew what to do and where he was in a master-slave relationship. There could be caring, respect, concern, and great mutual pleasure in such alliances, but this young virgin was an unknown, even to herself.
I should not have asked the slaver to bring Sofia here today. I should never have sought her consent to examine her. But from the instant he had spotted her on the holograph slave-block, he had been entranced.
And she had agreed to meet him. She was still free, and at this point and even beyond, her wishes were paramount. That was how the law of slavery in New Athens worked. Why is she interested in me? My money and power, of course, but there are other rich and powerful men and women in the colony, so why me, especially?
Whatever her reasons, she was here. They were at his closest island retreat to New Athens, within his secluded gardens. She had accepted his orders without hesitation or demur, showing him the small, temporary medical bracelet around her wrist that proved she was healthy and her birth control fully active for two years before stripping off and coming across his knees as if she had done the same a thousand times before.
Which I know she has not, for I have made it my business to find out.
He rested a hand on her bottom again, so tempted to squeeze and pat her pert, round ass cheeks. She was a delicious, beguiling indulgence, but he should not take advantage. Already he knew he had done too much, for he had no intention of buying her. He cleared his throat and tried to explain, aware that some masters never gave a full account for what they did or did not do.
So? I am my own master! But not where it comes to this slave, it seems.
“I wanted to see if you were as beautiful in the flesh as you are in the hologram. I find you are more so, Sofia , far more.”
Seeing her had not been enough. He had felt compelled to touch and handle her. Another mistake on his part and one he should be ashamed of, but his conscience said one thing and his blood another.
Let her up and let her go, hissed his reason, while lust urged, not yet.
“You are a virgin. My other slave-companions have been experienced.” He ran his thumb across the curve of her ass, feeling her haunches rise slightly to welcome his semi-caress. Already aroused, he felt himself grow harder still.
“I want what you offer,” she whispered.
After she made this admission, a tremble ran through her body, and he decided to lighten the mood a little. “Mastery lite?” He used the term he had used in his presentation.
“Yes,” the young woman laid across his lap now murmured. She wriggled as she spoke, and his erection became painful. You don’t want to do that, young lady, not unless you want some sex and spanking right now.

ADULT EXCERPT.

Sofia yawned and stretched, her body content and sated in a way she had never known before. Raising her arms above her head, she curved and arched sleekly before memory struck her with the force of a speeding solar jet.
“Master Theo!”
She skidded over in bed, colliding with his reaching arms. “Master, forgive me, I never meant to go to sleep. I did not know I would sleep, but it was all so glorious, and I am sorry.”
“Three cold showers later, my girl? You should be.”
Horrified, she trailed kisses down his strong form, registering somewhere in her panic that he was naked, that they were both naked. “Please, please, let me please you,” she gabbled, dropping off the bed onto her knees before him. “I know I do not deserve another chance, but I beg you to let me try.”
He caught her by her hair and tugged her close. “Have I complained?”
His eyes, dark and arresting, stripped her completely. She could only mouth, “No, sir,” and then she was moving again, drawn by his eyes and by his arm, scooped off the floor and back onto the bed, him hovering above her, her lying prone and stunned beneath him.
“Master.” Deeply ashamed, she peeped up at him through swimming eyes.
“Foolish one.” He tipped up her face, forced her to look at him properly. “I am not angry. Your orgasm is a gift, and I will take more, believe me.” He kissed her swollen eyelids. “Stop your crying, now, there is no need. You please me exactly as you are, how you are and how you react. Was that the first time it was so powerful?”
She nodded, grateful for his understanding.
“You are very appealing. I enjoy your slavish honesty.” He traced her jaw with a finger, and that simple touch ignited her afresh.
“May I touch you?” She longed to kiss him all over, lick and brush her fingers and hair over his long, lean body, take his jutting, aroused cock in her mouth and pleasure him.
“Not yet.”
She moaned in disappointment, and he struck her sharply on her still-smarting bottom. “Not yet while you owe me another spanking, little trespasser,” he went on, smiling as she gasped and clutched at him, “and while I would still trespass on you further, like this.”
Speaking, he parted her thighs and began to rub her swollen pussy, his fingers easing surely and sweetly between the moist folds. Again, the dizzying rush began to spiral in her. “Master!”
“Hush.” Still rubbing, he leaned over and swallowed her groan with a kiss, thrusting his tongue into her mouth and exploring as his fingers thrust surely between her legs. “Good girl,” he panted, as her body tightened and her breath stopped when he switched his kisses to her breasts, sucking and tonguing each nipple.
“Here.” His fingers delicately traced her inside, and then he commenced stretching her tight, virgin pussy with first one fingertip and then a whole finger. He half turned her so she was resting against him on her side and continued to stroke her pussy, her glowing ass, and inside her, where soon, soon, she prayed, he would follow his subtle, careful finger.
“Here is more.”
She felt two fingers within her, stretching and easing. “Oh, please!” she cried, and he cupped her deliciously sore, reddened bottom in his hands, lifted her hips, and smoothly entered her with his cock.
She felt the rupture of the final barrier as a tiny spark of pain, no more, and now he lay on her, supporting his weight on his arms but still on her and in her, enveloped deep within her vagina.
His, completely.
“Steady, Sofia ,” he murmured as she stiffened, caught bewilderingly between joy and panic. “Easy, now, sweet.”
He smiled, his eyes shining, showing her own startled face in the middle of his expanded pupils, his muscular, powerful body suspended, it seemed, effortlessly just on her, so she could feel him but not be crushed by him. Still he did not move, giving her time to adjust to these new sensations, her new nonvirgin state.
“I am glad you are my bride,” he groaned, husky and dark. “So very glad.”
Her heart swelled. I have gambled and risked, and now I am his. Can life be more complete than this?
He kissed her again, and her tongue flicked daringly into his mouth, whipping softly against the insides of his lips and against his teeth. His eyes widened at her erotic onslaught, and he shuddered once briefly above her, powerful as an earthquake. It empowered her that she could make him shiver, and then she felt ashamed.
“Master Theo.” She acknowledged him, what he was, what she was.
“Pretty slave.” His hands stroked to her flanks, gripping her firmly. “All mine.”
Again she felt tears pool in her eyes as a contentment she had never known in her life before bloomed inside her, its fragrance his musky scent and the inward colors that of a beating, vibrant flower.
“Wrap your legs around me, Sofia,” he coaxed, and she did so at once, feeling him slide even deeper into her .
“Good girl,” he praised her again, and now he moved, slowly at first and then with increasing speed, powering into her, driving them both into the mattress. She hung on, dazed, feeling him right inside her, and the fireworks were in her blood and head.
“You are so tight, so lush,” he panted, thrusting faster and faster.
“Come for me, come,” he urged, pounding her, and his command was enough. She screamed her release, and he stormed into her, his body jerking as he lost control.
Best wishes, Lindsay Townsend

Blurb:
Human blood is an illicit and highly addictive drug--if you're a vampire. Known as Red, its side effects are insanity, and eventual death. A group of Red-addicted vampires known as Poisoners are killing women as part of an extortion plot involving a lost ancient vampiric tome, and they’re leaving a trail of bodies in their wake. The discovery of each new victim risks exposure of the entire vampire race to humans. Then one victim survives…
Dr. Evan Nichols, oncologist and vampire, lives a monk-like existence, by his own choice, focusing on patient care and research to benefit his vampire brethren. It’s been twenty-five years since his world turned upside down—the night he lost his fiancee and discovered his hidden vampire heritage. Now his government has ordered him to take a mate—or they’ll choose one for him. It’s a horrible prospect, and one that might push him over the edge—until Fate throws him together with a human female.
Wary of relationships, Tara West has poured her energies into work and inventing cutting edge climbing equipment. She doesn’t like the gorgeous Dr. Nichols, yet finds herself unaccountably drawn to him.
When a crazed vampire attacks and poisons Tara, Evan rescues her. With time running out, he has to create an antidote to the poison before he loses his chance at love.
In order to make the vaccine which might cure her, he has to find the bastards who poisoned her and take their venom—before they die of their addiction. If he doesn’t reach them in time, saving her will be impossible.
Thus the journey begins—into the Red!

Excerpt:
Her eyes closed half way, the dilated pupils darkening the hazel. The bedroom expression from his drawing. She shifted toward him. “Win?”
He moved close enough to whisper in her ear. “Win.”
He bent his head to the hollow of her neck and inhaled, pulling her scent inside him. God, she smelled good. Clean, floral, and female. He had to know what her lips felt like. One kiss. Just one, and he’d go.
The atmosphere charged—equal parts anticipation and need.
Not a good idea, no matter how much he wanted it.
He should leave now.
Evan drew back and caught a glimpse of her tongue moistening her lips. Control slipped away, and he buried his hand in her hair and pulled her in for a kiss.
The first brush of his lips on hers, an electrifying sweep, shrank his world down to the two of them.
Her mouth had the perfect balance of heat and tenderness, fitting perfectly with his. Jesus, he hadn’t experienced this for so long, and it felt so good. He pressed his lips more firmly against hers. Slender fingers wove into his hair, and pleasure cascaded down his back and set off pressure in his groin. God, he should stop.
He pulled her into his embrace.
Damn good to hold a woman, warm and vital, after all these years of a cold and solitary existence. Tara had awakened a hunger, and he hadn’t realized the degree of his starvation until now. He had to get a taste of her.
He teased her lips with his tongue, and groaned in delight when she sighed and allowed him access. A flavor explosion—orange juice and chocolate chip cookies and steamy human woman, hot and vital. He stroked her tongue, penetrating, probing, shifting his mouth over hers to deepen the dance.
Tara gripped his shoulders, each one of her fingernails triggering tiny sparks of pleasure that flashed down to the small of his back.
Her enthusiasm was unmistakable. She wanted him too.
What would she feel like under him, his body buried in hers? Blood pulsed through him headed for destinations south, and his erection throbbed in readiness, shoving against his zipper.
Too fast, needed to slow down before his libido went off the rails.
As if sensing his thoughts, Tara broke the kiss but didn’t pull back. The heat of her breath warmed his jaw. At least one of them had sense.
Nope. He hadn’t gotten enough.
He captured her lips and mated his tongue with hers, and electric anticipation spread out across his skin. The fragrance of arousal poured off him, smelling of smoky bergamot, the unique signature of claiming and possession.
A mating scent. A whiff of answering desire hit his nostrils.
Had to get her closer, get his essence on her skin. He wrapped an arm around her waist. Soft breasts pressed against his chest, moving in concert with his breathing, and pushed desire to need.
So. Damn. Good.

Hunter's Game
by

Denyse Bridger

Denyse Bridger has done it again with her Quickie from the New Dawning International Book Fair, Hunter's Game. I read this and I had to read it a few more times and it is more than just a bodice ripper-the woman didn't have time to have a bodice on to rip! Just what is a Quickie? A Quickie is like a short story-a bit shorter than a novella that are becoming wildly popular with Kindle, Nook, and other E-Reader devices. Quickie's are ideal for those who want a quick read. Hunter's Game for those who love romance especially paranormal romance will fall in love with this Quickie.

DENYSE BRIDGER
IN HER OWN WORDS

I am a native of Atlantic Canada, born in the country’s Easternmost province, Newfoundland, and raised in Nova Scotia. A lifelong dreamer, I began writing at an early age and can’t recall a time when I wasn’t creating in some artistic form. An active interest in the American West, and to a lesser extent the American Civil War, has been a lifelong obsession. Cowboys have been a love-affair that began at the tender age of three, and eventually expanded to encompass an equally timeless passion for pirates, Greek Gods, and Ancient Egypt. The other side of the Old West intrigue is an affinity for Victorian England, particularly the 1885-1895 part of the century. The other endless love affair in my life is Italia and all its magic, beauty, and dazzling culture.

My first major fantasy novel is AS FATE DECREES. (Available in bookstores everywhere, and on Amazon.com.) The novel relies heavily on Greek Mythology, and is set in Ancient Greece and modern Athens. If you enjoy a tale of Gods, Destiny, and the battles of an Eternal Champion, this is the book for you! Not surprisingly, there’s a touch of romance throughout, of course! “It’s what I do best, after all!” The next fantasy novel, already in the works, is about pirates, parallel worlds, and sorcery.

At this point in my career, I’ve had published in the vicinity of 500 stories and novellas, in almost any genre you can name. “The only thing I haven’t tried yet is hard-core science fiction, and horror. Since I don’t consider vampires as I write them to be the fodder of horror, I classify those stories as Dark Fantasy.” Many of my vampire stories have appeared in Margaret L. Carter’s anthology, The Vampire’s Crypt, and Night To Dawn, published and edited by Dawn Callahan for the first two years, and now published by author/editor Barbara A. Custer.

My poetry has been published internationally, as well. I’ve also been the recipient of numerous awards, most notably the Fan Quality Award, which is given annually for excellence in fan-written fictions based on film and television. As of May 2005, there are four awards in the collection, and no less than a dozen nominations to my credit. I’ve had one of my books end up being a finalist for book of the year in 2008, and been a finalist for the Aurora Award six months after As Fate Decrees was released. I’ve lost track of the 5 star reviews, but I am always grateful for each and every one of the amazing endorsements given to my work. Readers are everything, because they are the real reason any author is successful.

In 2006, I formed a partnership with actor/producer/singer Branscombe Richmond to create and write a serial that is best described as a modern day western. (Think motorcycles in place of horses!) Installments of the book appeared on the American Motorcycle Company website, the first in April 2006. Since then, I have gathered all the segments together and they will be released as a novella in future, with a conclusion to the story of our Rebel Knight. The first half of the tale is again available from XoXo Publishing™ in eBook format.

Simply The Best was the title of my first full-length erotic romance novel, and was my debut title with Liquid Silver Books. Upcoming projects are diverse and many, with a possible sequel to As Fate Decrees in the future. In the erotic romance genre there is also lots to explore, including the Victorian mystery series set in and around the infamous Ripper murders; and soon a set of tales that take place at a Venetian Masquerade Ball; as well as many other stories set in a variety of genres.

I am presently at work on several very exciting projects, many of which are inspired by the wonderful romantic love songs of Italy, and the wonderful men who have brought this music back to today's audience. I am working on a new vampire/fantasy novel that has involved a lot of world building and will be very detailed and possible series if all goes well. There is also a new vampire novel with an ancient Sicilian Prince as my hero.

I've been lucky enough to add Ellora's Cave and New Dawning International Book Fair to my list of publishers this year, and I hope to have many future releases with these two great companies. My first books with them have been well accepted and very successful, so a huge thanks to readers for that!

The Great Blog Experience: 16 Weeks With the TTCVBT

The Great Blog Tour Experience

Some months ago, I signed on the Tasha Turner Coaching Virtual Blog Tour. I wasn’t quite sure what exactly a blog tour was but being a recently published author I wanted to take part in the tour for a few reasons. First, I wanted to learn better how to promote myself as an author through my blog. Secondly, I wanted to connect with other authors who had the same passion about writing as I did. Now that it will officially come to an end this Sunday, I’m kind of sad about it. All summer long I’ve enjoyed completing my blog assignments and being part of TEAM TURNER. I’ve gotten so much out of the experience and I’m grateful to Tasha Turner and all those authors who hosted me on their blog space. It was a wild ride, wasn’t it?

I learned so much such as how to write better Twitter and social network pitches. I never knew that just the right tag line on a pitch can really affect how much interest and traffic to a blog. I also learned that Bruce Blake had a lot of time on his hands in his younger days. Hopefully there was no apple pie involved. Marketing on the Internet is a powerful tool and if it is done correctly, then it yields positive results. Here I just thought blogging was just posting updates from daily life or in my case, posts that pertained to my writing and recent publications. I never knew that it was so much more. There are literally thousands of people that look at blogs every day and how many blogs are passed over because they didn’t have a hook or something to draw the attention. Tasha Turner’s Coaching Virtual Blog Tour helped me see that a blog is so much more than some online journal or space to just say, “Hi, I’m an author and this is me and what I write.”

Aside from the sometimes challenging assignments, I found myself meeting and connecting with my hosts or those who I was to spotlight on my blog as friends. No matter what our persuasion was in terms of our writing genre, we all were connected by our passion for writing. Authors like Catrina Taylor, Anjie Harte, Laci Page, Ellie Mack, and Linda Bolton all love to spin tales of romance fiction whether it’s contemporary or fantasy. Authors like Bruce Blake, Joseph Eastwood, Amadi Kyym(Natalie Starr), Raymond Frazee, Scott Bury, and others wove tales of crime and mystery with lots of intrigue. Their heroes were sometimes the least likely ones. Then there were those authors who write stories of self discovery, life journeys, and stories of the heart like Ed Griffin, Doug Simpson, and Allison Bruning. I know I am leaving so many of the wonderful authors that were apart of the tour but it’s hard to squeeze so much fantastic into one blog. In doing the tour with all these great people, it was amazing to see how they thought and where their creative processes not only took themselves but their readers as well. Plus, we just had a great time getting together; I mean don’t they even throw soirees at mental hospitals? I think we did McMurphy and the guys proud. Even Tasha Turner herself survived, so who’s for breaking out all those Village People records? Okay, maybe that is going to far, even I can’t picture Bruce Blake in an Afro wig or Allison Bruning in platforms. However, I think Laci, Anjie, Ellie, and Catrina could have pulled off the hot pants. Who knows right?

In closing, the Tasha Turner Coaching Virtual Blog Tour was awesome to be apart of. I would recommend Tasha Turner to any writer, blogger, or author who like me is just trying to make their way to the top. Putting yourself in her hands is a guarantee that you are making the right steps on the right path. For all my blog tour friends, whether we only had one interaction either hosting or as a guest, it was a pleasure in knowing all of you. For some of you, we hang out at the same padded cell (which reminds me, Laci-its your turn to bring the cheetos). I learned far more than I thought I would. I accomplished more than I thought I could, and in the end, I have great new friends that come from all walks of life and writing. I wish all of you much success! Just remember your faithful host here when you hit it big and you’re strutting the red carpet, okay!

Author Spotlight: Laci Paige

I want to take a moment and thank Laci Paige for being my guest this week. Now pull up a chair or bean bag and read the special treat that Laci has provided for her book, Let's Keep On Trucking.

Blurb from “Let’s Keep On Truckin’” (By Laci Paige and Decadent Publishing, heat level 4).
Lily loves traveling on her job since no one can do it better than her. Being out on the open road gives her plenty of time to reflect and avoid unwanted attention, but somehow it always finds her....

When she comes across Ryder, first at a grocery store, then at a rest stop, sexual desire sparks and she knew she had to have him. If only her ex hadn't shown up, igniting a fantasy she never thought possible.

Seeing Alex in a whole new light, Lily realizes second chances are in order, but will she have to choose between the two men? Or could she be happy with both?
Excerpt:
In the candy aisle, I felt someone looking at me. Turning my head, I gazed past a man standing near me. A very nice looking man, but I ignored him, or at least I tried to. His green eyes locked on mine. Warmth and tingles spread throughout my body causing my knees to go weak. The man’s face held sharp features, and his sultry lips rewarded me with a demure smile. I would’ve loved to feel them on mine. He stepped closer to me. My heart rate spiked. Nodding to the shelf in front of us, he focused in on something and reached for it. He stopped mid-reach, and our gazes met again. His arm lowered. I knew I couldn’t look away, and I had a feeling he couldn’t either. I bit my bottom lip, and I saw him take notice. He leaned in close to me, mouth parted to speak.
“Excuse me,” a voice requested. We stepped away from each other so the woman behind us could retrieve candy from the shelf. She sure took her time. Separated by the woman, I kept glancing over at the man. He, too, continued to gaze my way. There was something about him; he made something stir inside me.
Author Bio:
