Summary

From Amazon bestselling author S.D. Wasley comes her first work of new adult paranormal romance perfect for lovers of Lauren Kate's Fallen and the Richelle Mead's Bloodlines series.

Blurb

Frankie’s cousin wants her to do three things this year:

1. Lose her inhibitions
2. Do something spectacularly stupid
3. Fall madly in love

Travelling was Frankie’s life. As the daughter of a big-name evangelist, she’s been able to feed her hunger for new sights throughout most of her teenage years. Then a hushed-up scandal gets her thrown off the tour circuit and stuck at her uncle’s house in the town of Augur’s Well.

Forced to repeat her failed senior year, it looks like a dismal existence for Frankie—until she’s invited to the bizarre meeting place of four mismatched people ... and falls hard for the fascinating, secretive Cain Aleister.

Furtive meetings in an underground chamber ... Latin words carved into a stone wall ... intense desire ... and a secret so elusive she’ll do almost anything to bust it open. Until now, Frankie never believed in grand passions—but that’s not the only one of her beliefs about to implode right before her eyes.

Looks like Frankie’s going to score three for three.

Excerpt

I had to touch him on his bike, to press my arms and thighs around him so I wouldn’t fall off. He was solid. I don’t know what I’d expected but, for some reason, that surprised me. I felt fear as well as something else I didn’t understand, something that made me tremble all over. I told myself it was just the exhilaration of speeding along the highway with the cooling wind rushing past my arms. He didn’t ride towards civilisation but took us even further beyond Gaunt House ruins. I had no idea how long we were out there but it must have been a long ride because the light started to change. I wondered if Cain could feel how hard my heart was thumping with it pressed against his back like that. When we finally arrived back the others’ cars were at the ruin. He cut the engine as we coasted to a halt. I let my arms fall reluctantly but stayed where I was.
“Where did you go, when you went out the other night?”
I felt Cain go tense and it took him a moment to answer. “What do you mean?”
“And last week. Where did you go? What’s the big secret?” I twisted around him, trying to see his face.
When he glanced down at me I knew for certain I was right. There was a secret. I nudged his back with my shoulder.
“I don’t know what …” he said, his tone mechanical.
My frustration surged. “I’m not going to let it go. You’ve invited me back here so what’s the secret? I bet the other three know. Tell me!” He didn’t answer. “We can do this the easy way or the hard way.” I shocked myself with this tough guy attitude. “Are you choosing the hard way?”
Cain was startled, too. “What are you going to do?”
I just slipped off the seat, leaving him to put the bike on its stand and follow me into the ruin.
“Francesca!”
I heard from his hurried footsteps that he wanted to talk to me before we went inside but I didn’t trust myself not to betray what I was feeling; this big … huge … massive desire, just barely disguised by frustration. I knew the other three were inside. It would be safe in there. We wouldn’t be able to have this conversation anymore. I just needed to make it inside before he caught up to me. After a swift clamber down the ladder I rushed blindly for the door but somehow Cain caught my hand to stop me an instant before I threw the door open.
Francesca.” He breathed my name warm against my neck.
A hot, uncomfortable flush hit me when Liz, Owen, and Jude saw my hand caught in Cain’s, although he made an attempt to pull his away. Too late. They’d seen our breathless awkwardness, dishevelled hair, and tangled fingers.

The Sheriff Meets His Match by Jacquie Biggar (Wounded Hearts 4) @jacqbiggar #Contemporary #RomanticSuspense

Jack Garrett has been stung by love in the past so he's not in a hurry to get burnt again, but he can't deny his attraction to the new receptionist, Laurel Thomas.

When trouble comes to Tidal Falls, Jack worries that Laurel is in over her head.

Laurel loves her dysfunctional family but dreams of a place to call home. Just as she settles into a new life, her old one catches up to her and delivers chaos to the town.

Can these two strong personalities find a way to trust in each other and find their happy ever after?

Jack hesitated with his hand fisted to knock on Laurel’s pumpkin-colored door. His aunt had this thing about brightly painted doors being good luck, or some such hogwash. The murmur of a voice from within told him Laurel had company. Male company. He tapped the file in his other hand against his thigh and glared a hole through the door.
“Guess it can wait ’til morning,” he grumbled, turning to step gingerly down the snow-covered stairs. Whoever-the-asshat-was, he could have at least shoveled them off for her. Just as he reached the sidewalk an angry shout coming from inside the house startled him. Jack grabbed for his service revolver and jumped for the door. He missed the stairs entirely and dropped the file, allowing it to fall unheeded into the snowbank. The papers from within tobogganed down the slope.
He rammed a fist against the wood. “Sheriff’s department, open the door.” His heart thundered in his chest and there was a ringing in his ears. Was he having a frigging heart attack for crying out loud? He’d never reacted like this before, not even when he’d chased after a murderer a few months ago. But the thought of someone hurting…
“Laur…el,” he shouted, panic clawing the back of his throat. Jack tried the knob but it was locked. He took a step back, angled himself sideways, and prepared to slam his shoulder into the wood. He started forward, slipping a little on the icy deck boards. Good thing, because it slowed him down just enough to narrowly avoid ploughing Laurel over when she pulled the door open.
“Hello?”
When she saw him barrelling toward her with a gun in hand her beautiful eyes took over her face. “Yee…ahh,” she cried, tumbling backward and smacking her head against the now swinging door.
Fuuuck.
Jack tried backpedalling, but the slippery footing beneath his cowboy boots—dumb choice of footwear—had him sailing right into her already off-balanced body.

“Laurel, holy shit.” His hand reached out to grip her shoulder, conscious of the soft womanly feel of her plastered against his rapidly hardening body. Great. “I’m sorry, honey. Are you okay?”

From the time Jacquie was twelve years old, she knew she wanted to be a writer. That year she wrote a short story called Count Daffodil after spending countless hours searching for ideas. The story garnered Jacquie an A and was read aloud through the school's loudspeaker system. Needless to say, after that she was hooked.

Jacquie grew up, got married, raised a family and left her writing urges to simmer in the background unattended.

She owned and operated a successful diner in her hometown for a number of wonderful years before deciding to live her dream of becoming an author.
Jacquie's first book, Tidal Falls, a romantic suspense novel about second chances, released September of 2014.

BOOK TOUR: Monica Beggs by @Sheri_Fredericks #Contempory #Humor #Romance

Monica Beggs is more than the hottest porn star out on DVD--she's Finn Daniel's next assignment.

Lights. Camera. Lube?

Famous porn star Monica Beggs wrapped up another grueling on-location movie shoot when the Colombian cartel attempted to kidnap her. Their guns are as real as the price on her pretty head.

Former Special Ops and present day surfer, Finn Daniels recognizes a lady in distress when he sees one—especially if it’s his adult film crush being hustled out the door. He’s no longer in the business of busting up the underworld, but that doesn’t deflect his moral compass.

In a fast-paced adventure-- over land, sea, and air-- playing it hot and heavy will only lead them straight into action!

Name: Monica Beggs (Moni to my friends)

Gender:  Female, duh!

Age:  20-something (I’m not telling – LOL)

Profession:  Former multiple AVN award-winning adult film actress, now pencil-pushing Admin Assistant to Pacific Surf, Inc.’s CEO. (aka, my husband, Finn.)
Do you have any special skills or training?  Uh, well…yeah. No talent that I can use in my new career. (male voice calling from outside the office, “I could use some of your special skills right now, Sweetheart!”) Little does Finn know, I’ve been taking private instruction in mixed-martial arts so I can travel with the team when they go on assignment.

How would you describe yourself?  The luckiest woman alive. I’m here, not locked up in a Cartel compound in God-only-knows-where. Plus, I have Finn.

Who is your significant other(s)?  Finn Daniels, former Special Ops agent turned surfing accessory entrepreneur, and sometimes hired investigative bodyguard. Is that last one a real job?

How would they describe you? Oh, I’m sure they’d come up with a few doozies, but mostly the worst coffee maker in California, spunky to the point of irritating, buyer of great shoes, and the Energizer lover.

Tell us about your family.  I have a sister and five nieces and nephews, my mom lives in Las Vegas (last time I heard), and my dad is in Texas for another fifteen years… doing time. Finn and everyone here at Pacific Surf are my family now.

What do you think was left unsettled in your story?  Not so much unsettled as unmentioned, was how Finn dealt with my former manager, Darrell, when he approached us before the last AVN Awards. Let’s just say he sat in the back, in the dark, where nobody would see his face.

If you could change anything about your story, what would it be? I’d happily change the choices I made, or maybe the frustration I allowed myself to feel. But then there wouldn’t have been the adventure that brought Finn and I closer together, the force that drew us together, or the life threatening circumstances that showed me the proof of Finn’s love. Because of all that, I’d never change a thing.
