Introducting one of the 2011 Winners of the Critters Writer's Workshop, Me-Nikki Noffsinger-So Excited!

I am still so very excited that the book, Lost To The Night was not ONLY nominated by Critters Writer's Workshop but IT WON FOR ANTHOLOGY OF THE YEAR! Me, along with the writing geniuses and talents of Denyse Bridger, Kayden Mcleod, Brigit Aine, and Sara Gonzalas our book which had a short story from all of us was chosen as Anthology of the year for 2011! This is so huge for me because not only was it a true labor of love and an awesome experience working with such talented authors, 3 of whom are seasoned authors and artists but a great publisher who allowed them to allow me to be apart of it! Now I didn't win a lifetime supply of chocolate(guess that only happens if your name is Charlie Bucket) nor did I win a BMW or a Corvette. There isn't a huge check coming in the mail or a European vacation(Which would end up like the Griswolds knowing me and my kith and kin)-but I got something more. I got not only recognition, 4 great new friends, and a book out there with my name on it, but I have an upgrade in my self confidence and esteem. I know I still have a long way to go. Very few authors wrote their first few books and became an instant sensation. Well unless your JK Rowling or Stefanie Meyer or someone like that but hey it'll come! It's going to because I'm not taking any "No's" for answers! Now a few of you E-mailed me some questions about my standings with a scam publisher that will not be named-and all I can tell you is-No, I don't have my rights back but I'm persistent and I refuse to give them money when they've not even given me once check yet for the copies I did sell. Yes I do plan on finishing the second book but right now Bitter Winter is shelved. I think having a second book would be confusing when I can't even get the first one out of the vile clutches of "The scam publisher that shall not be named". So I'm at a cross road. I can hang on and keep sending them E-mails to please release the book or I could re-write it. I hate to re-write it because so much of the historical references was researched and well thought out and dealt with one of my favorite periods in the history of Russia and Europe. I feel like a mom who has brought her child to the pagent only to be told I've got to add a spray tan, big hair, make-up, and teeth. Right now I'm currently working on a submission for Lost To The Night Vol.2. So there is still plenty of time for each of you to get Vol.1. Another question I got asked was: Why the supernatural?

Well I've answered this one before, but I'll answer it again. I love it. I love taking characters and molding them into what I want. I love how I can create a whole world where the "monster" isn't always the villain. I also still have a love for historical romances as well. I have stories that run in my head all the time. Sometimes I blow a time out whistle on all of them. I also love biographies, autobiographies, and a lot of non-fiction. I never cease to love to learn and explore. From a young age, books and writing was my outlet to the world. So do I plan to always write Paranormal romances? No. I have so many stories that I want to write and I hope you all stick around to read them.

In closing I want to thank Denyse Bridger, Kayden Mcleod, Brigit Aine, Sara Gonzalas, Gina Cianfarani, Penny Adams, Ana Torres, and the rest of XOXO Publishing as well as my family and friends who have stood beside me and have inspired me! Love you all!
