HIS TO PROTECT (Black Hills Wolves Book 63) by @ParisBrandon #Giveaway #Sweepstakes

A resentful pack, a suspicious alpha and a looming threat…

After ten long years, desperation has forced Luna Sinclair back to Los Lobos, but nothing in her experience has prepared her for the heat that Pack Protector Gunnar Redmond unleashes. Her wolf is clawing to break free and run straight for the hulking beast; but what wolf in his right mind would want to be tied to her family tree?

Not everyone is happy about welcoming the daughter of one of the old alpha’s henchmen home.

Old wounds and secrets are exposed and, to make matters worse, Drew Tao, the new alpha, has reason to suspect she might have revealed the pack’s most closely guarded secret when she escaped the crazed survivalist who had been keeping her prisoner.

None of that matters to Gunnar.

He’s known Luna was his mate since finding her naked and shivering on pack land, and he’ll do anything to keep her. With their wolves clawing to mate and danger closing in, anyone who wants to hurt her will have to go through him first.

Excerpt  PG 13:

“What are you afraid of?”
“I’m not afraid.” Doubt clouded her gaze. “I’m not afraid.” Her second attempt came out a whisper, as if repeating it again would make it true.
His wolf wanted to comfort her. His alpha, Drew Tao, wouldn’t appreciate him putting his own needs first. He’d been tasked to be a pack protector, and at the moment, he didn’t like it much. “You were running as if you were being chased.” He softened his voice. “I need to know who or what has you so scared.”
“Who are you?” Suspicion tinged her question.
“Gunnar Redmond, and it’s my job to know, so you might as well tell me.”
“I’ll tell the alpha. No sense in repeating it twice.”
“It is if the pack is in imminent danger,” he snapped.
“I had a pack of dogs chasing me. I didn’t remember the exact location of our border, but, apparently, they did. I wanted to make sure I was on Tao land before I stopped.”
She’s lying. Dogs giving chase barked like mad, and he hadn’t heard anything. Interrogation was a tricky thing. Sometimes he learned more by listening. “The dogs around here aren’t usually that stupid. What did you do to piss them off?”
“I’m female, you work it out.”
No wonder his wolf had been rippling under his skin. “C’mon, then, I’d best get you someplace safe before I need to fight off anything stupid enough to follow you.”
He had enough trouble ignoring the panting beast trying to claw its way out of him. In a few minutes, he’d need to ask for his shirt back so he could hide the evidence.
Her scent beckoned the wildness inside, and one glance at her bare feet as she picked her way over the rough path stirred another desire. He scooped her up and tried to ignore her trembling. Tried to ignore the bones stretching her flesh too thin. She held herself stiffly and as far away as his arms would allow as he carried her, clearly intimidated.
“I’m not going to hurt you.” He spoke in a gruff manner because if he tried to be kind, he’d end up doing something to appease the beast clawing at him and demanding more.
“Unless I’m a threat,” she whispered. Any returning wolf had to be vetted. This could go either way. He’d never known Drew to be vindictive, but her father had a nasty reputation and his actions had harmed more than one family.
He hadn’t known Ed Sinclair personally. He’d heard the were-bear, Gee, and some of the older wolves mention the bad old days and the men who’d followed Magnum into the kind of depravity no one liked to talk about.
Ed Sinclair had been a mean-spirited bully whose temper worsened with each drink. Man, woman, or child had been fair game as long as Magnum issued the orders and supplied the booze.
Try as he might, he couldn’t remember ever hearing anything about Sinclair’s family.
This time of day, Drew was probably having lunch at The Den, which meant Gunnar would have to parade Luna through Gee’s bar, half-naked and filthy. He could have taken her to his cabin, let her at least clean up and gotten something to cover her, though he doubted she would have trusted him to have her best interest at heart.
“I appreciate the lift, but I’d rather not be carried through town,” she growled, and he almost smiled. It had been a tiny growl.
If he’d been Ed Sinclair’s offspring, he’d be trying to retain a speck of pride, too. He lowered her to the ground and winced when one of her heels left a bloody print in the dirt. She defiantly lifted her chin, and he knew he’d have a fight on his hands if he suggested she return to his arms.
He needed to pick his battles with this one, or he’d surely lose a war she didn’t have any idea he was fighting.

"Gritty, sexy and with a strong but vulnerable female lead. Fallen Angel is a surprisingly good read." - Ingrid Hall

"Is Jess going to get sucked into a world with Nick that will destroy her or will she bring Nick to the other side and they find happy ever after? I will be grabbing the next book soon. I need to know more about this story and what the future holds." - TBird, Crystals Many Reviews

"Fallen Angel is a quick and sexy read. I hope to get the chance to read the next installment. I want to know more about Nick and the dangerous games he's playing. - Angela, Crystals Many Reviews."

PG 13 Excerpt from Fallen Angel Part 4:

Nick filled his glass with scotch, watching the ice swirl before slamming it back in one gulp. Jess was appalled at how he was just sitting there, acting as if nothing happened. She was stunned she was keeping any sense of composure.

She was scared. So very scared.

Scared of what she just witnessed.

Scared of Nick.

Scared of what she was feeling.

Most woman would have ran the hell out

of there the minute their boyfriend pulled a gun on someone, killing them in
cold blood.

But not her.

Terrified? Hell, yeah. Petrified?

Obviously. But if she was honest, she’d have to admit a horrifying truth to
herself. It was also…

Intoxicating. Scandalous. Tantalizing.

An adrenaline rush like nothing she’d ever experienced in her entire life.
A dangerous drug, one that excited her, turning her on in ways she never imagined….

Welcome to the dark side, kid.

Authors Bios:

Alisa Anderson:

well...alisa did stuff and is still doing stuff. only now she has two boys crazy enuff to want her as their mommy. hey, at least she tried to warn them, so her job is done. she doesn’t like to capitalize, partially because she likes how lower case letters look visually, but mostly out of laziness. please don't judge. it could be you. and she would say, hey. you're alright, buddy. you're ok in my book. now c'mere for a hug. the hug might be pushing it. air kiss? you are strangers, after all, with only a mutual love of poor grammar.
she lives for a world full of controllable anatomically correct, android men programmed to meet her specific feminine needs (wink, wink, nudge, nudge with a big waggle of the eyebrows). who look like the rock. and ian somerhalder. and idris elba. and that's it she promises. variety. gotta have variety, right?

but alas...apparently that exists only in johanna lindsey's genius mind. so until then, she enjoys her incredibly warped sense of humor. she reads tons of erotica and romantic, drippy goo that makes her heart go pitter patter. then she thought, hey. what, she said to herself. (softly, of course, so no one finds out she is indeed, 2 nuts short of a fruitcake) maybe you should write this stuff too. maybe someone will like it and maybe buy it. so she said, huh, you think? then she said, well...yeah, i wouldn't have suggested it...(inserts sarcastic tone) and then she was like lose the attitude, ok? then she was all, would you just shut up and write, already? sheesh! and she did. :)

Cameron Skye:

When Cameron is not in the lab working toward a Ph.D., in Neuropsychopharmacology, which in laymen's terms is basically finding the effects drugs have on mood and behavior, she is writing stories, crating vivid, intense characters you will never forget.

She believes while life can take you down every path but the right one, eventually everyone will find their happily ever after.

Excerpt from “Moon People”

Drake laid it on really well. “I thought I loved Constance, but after seeing you, I knew we were soul mates,” Drake told Vanessa. “I’d like to take you to the festival today. Meet me at the backdoor of the fun-house, but don’t tell Constance, I don’t want her following you and making a scene.”

“You made a wise decision, Drake,” Vanessa said. “I’ll be there in ten minutes.”

I knew Vanessa would bring Gretchen, and that was the plan.

At the fun-house, I hid inside when Vanessa and Drake entered. The exhibits were not open to the public for another two hours, so—if my plan failed—Drake and I both were dead.

Taking Vanessa by the hand, Drake led her down a dark corridor. “Where are you taking me?” she asked playfully.

“There’re monster masks on this side of the fun-house,” he said, leading her to the back door and abruptly stopping.

Looking around, Vanessa saw nothing but janitor equipment. “Hey, what’s gong on?” she asked, confused. “Where are the scary masks?”

“Right here,” Drake said, removing the dried seaweed from his pocket.

He threw it into her face, blinding her and scorching her flesh. Screaming as loud as she could, she turned to ash.

“You bastard!” Gretchen shouted on hearing Vanessa’s death scream. “Better ones than you and Constance have tried to kill me and failed.”

Taking off like a shot, Drake ran down an opposite hall leading into the maze of mirrors with Gretchen following. From where I stood, I heard their approaching footsteps and raced to the other side of the maze.

Suddenly, Gretchen cornered Drake. When Gretchen realized he was out of seaweed, she advanced slowly, enjoying every instant of his anticipated murder.

Listening to her steps, I knew exactly where she was. Immediately, I flipped on the overhead lights, giving Gretchen the shock of her life. She was in the maze of funny mirrors surrounded by images depicting her beautiful face as distorted and grotesque. Horrified, she became hysterical before melting into a stinking ooze of fish scales.

“Gross!” Drake said.

“Yes, but it’s over. Willowick is saved,” I said, and slowly I crept into his arms.

Afterward, I used my conch and contacted Poseidon and the others. I told them they were unwelcome in Willowick. Instead, I suggested they go far away into Asian waters, telling them it was too dangerous here, humans had learned how to kill our kind.

I'm issuing a challenge to all of you book fanatics out there! I'm calling it the Summer Book Challenge, and I want to know who's up for it! What is this so called challenge? Well let me explain the rules!

The Summer Book Challenge

This summer, I want you to read 1 book per week. To make things fair-each book has to be by a different author. Each week I'm going to have you go to Facebook and post in an RP group (many books such as Gena's Lords of the Underworld and Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series has Role Playing groups and for the most part they're fun) or author page on face book and post a comment or interview a "character".

Then, I want you to send me an email with the book you read that week, the link to the page where you posted a question, comment, or who you spoke with on facebook or Bitten by Books(since they do showcase alot of books)

Let's see how many books we can read from May 30th to August 19th.

IS THERE A PRIZE?

Well other than exposing yourself to other paranormal romance authors, no not really but it is something for fun-and that's the reward. Plus I'll showcase the one who has read and posted the most on this site, my weebly site, and my new freewebs.com site.

Why do this?

Well, my hope is that you will read all these great books by well known authors, but really that you'll discover someone new! There are alot of authors both traditional and e-book authors that could use the discovery! So get out there-answer the call! Take the challenge-c'mon what are ya? Chicken?
